Mrs. Mary Louise Adkins, age 84, of Danville, a former Covington resident, died at 6 p. m. Saturday, Feb. 24, at her home at 220 W. North St., in Danville. She had been in ill health for five years and seriously ill the past year. Mrs. Adkins was born in Covington on Jan. 15, 1878, a daughter of Patrick and Catherine Connley McMahon. She was married Nov. 3, 1898, to Allen N. Adkins who died Oct. 12, 1956. Mrs. Adkins was the oldest member of the Democratic Women's Organization in Danville. She was a member of the St. Paul's Catholic Church and its Sanctuary Society in Danville. Surviving are three sons, C. E. Adkins of Covington, Mack Adkins and Albert Adkins of Danville; three daughters, Miss Mildred Adkins and Miss Marguerite Adkins, both at home, and Mrs. Mary Edwards of Long Beach, Calif.; five grandchildren and one great-grandson. One son, four brothers and two sisters preceded her in death. Funeral services were held at 9 a. m. Tuesday, Feb. 27, at the St. Paul's Church. The Rev. C. B. Motsett officiated. Rosary was recited at the Berhalter Funeral Home Monday evening, Feb. 26.
